Q.Is it possible to find out if twins are fraternal or identical while only three months pregnant?

A. Congratulations! and Congratulations! If you do an ultrasound at around 20 weeks, and you find two different sexes you'll know for sure that you have fraternal twins. Other than that examination of the membranes is necessary to give a absolute answer. In the United States, about 33% of all twins are identical.
