When you complete your teacher certification, you were concentrating
all the medical-technical
information and idealistic beliefs you were eager to convey to pregnant families. You needed to
have this "what to teach" information for your course content.
Perhaps there was so much to learn in order to gain certification, that you began teaching without
sufficient grasp of the management and "people skills" which were presented in your
training. Teaching Natural Birth supplements your education by presenting these
principles for success so you can have even more
opportunities to share your important natural childbirth message.

About the Author:
Jan Whitcomb, who has been an Affiliated Bradley Method®
independent childbirth educator since 1979, has prepared thousands of family members - mothers,
fathers, babies, siblings and grandparents - for joyous natural births.
Now a grandmother of two, she is a member os Le Leche League,
NAPSAC, ICAN and Christian Midwives International, as well as being a board member of Apple
Tree Family Ministries. She and her husband, Lee, live in San Diego, California, where, in
addition to teaching weekly childbirth classes, publishing books and continuing her adoption
search, she regularly writes, records and performs songs.
Mrs. Whitcomb feels that the exercise, nutrition, relaxation training,
and positive consumer choices available to parents today are the keys to safe (and emotionally
beneficial) drug-free births. These will strengthen our families and our society and return the USA
to its rightful place at the top of the world's infant and maternal outcome statistics.
Her forthcoming companion volume to Teaching Natural
Birth is entitled Still Teaching Natural Birth: How to Stay On the Path in Spite of
Obstacles.
