Dawn's Birth

May 3, 1985 at 4:07 am

Woke to a contraction from hell, went off to bathroom, felt much better, but no show. Went back to bed with thought if i have another like that i best wake the dad up. 4:10 am wow another and so quick (da) woke up hubby and asked him to help me to the bath- room, he complied. Sat down and grunted hmmm.... wiped the area OH MY GOD ITS THE HEAD Frank this baby is coming now!!! While i was getting back into bed my hubby called a close friend nearby she came in a few minutes in between his call and her arrival I had three more contractions back to back ouch. My friend had heard something in my hubbys voice and had called an ambulance before she left home. When the friend arrived (she is also a special care nurse for preemies at a large hospital in Vancouver) she darn near fainted. The water had not yet broken but the head was born to the ears, and buldging, ambulance arrived, much going on I'm still having contractions and strong bearing down making strong gutteral throat sounds. Ambulance attendant asks if this is a first birth, no I replied it's my second baby. He then asked if everything had gone well with my first pregnancy. Well no, actually I had a c section. He went 3 shades of grey right before my eyes. Pushing was not a option I was giving it all I had. My water would not break, the pressure was unbelievable The ambulance attendant broke my water with a nick of a scapel woosh our 7lb 13 oz beautiful daugher was born 4:07 start 4:54 am finish 47 minutes start to finish. My section storey is horrible, this was a joy to share.
